A player can be moved to MR vacant spot (6th) as an interim transaction. This is considered ½ a transaction and later when a player is called up from MR to AR, the second ½ of the transaction (Type-C) is complete. If it’s a player coming from the NHL to fill the vacated AR spot, the second ½ of the transaction (Type-C) is complete and a second transaction, Type-A, is added to permit the acquisition of the FA player. The Team must return a player from MR to the NHL as part of this transaction, however it will be considered a separate Type-C transaction and therefore your Team will register qty 2 Type-Cs & 1 Type-A in total. When you email (submit) a trade request, it becomes an official record (of that request). This record is logged and added to the RSPS Transaction Report (TRR); regardless if your TR is approved or disallowed. Once you email your TR you cannot change your mind (so-to-speak). A grace period of 2-3 minutes following emailed TR is acknowledged but shouldn't be relied upon. Make sure you want to trade before requesting a trade.
With Type-B trades there is a loop hole for changing your mind. The request is not official until both Teams email the request. The Team that sends the TR first can cancel the TR by resending the email, stating "cancel"; before the other Team sends their TR. Also, the second Team can simply let the 8 hour period expire, by not sending their required TR email.
Each email has a time stamp which is verified if ever two TR emails are sent at the same time; example, two Teams requesting a trade for the same player.
** One Hour TR Rule: You cannot submit more than one TR within the same hour. An hour is 60 minutes (3600 secs). If a Team submits a second TR within the same hour, that TR will be disallowed and the one hour wait period, starts over. Three hasty requests; could extend the wait period to 3 hours.
The official details of the TR will be added to the Transaction Report. This and all other relative reports are updated usually within 24hrs of the request, being approved and the outcome posted on the new "Headline News & Reports" posting".
Note: The RSPS do not reply to TR emails to explain the outcome. However if any RSPS Teams want to make a comment or add some Poolie-gibberish or ridicule the request, they are welcome to reply and do so.
Placing a Player on the IR
If a player on your Team is injured, after the HOD date, you can place that player on the IR (Injured Reserve). Doing this gives you more time to decide if the injured player is worth keeping. When a player is placed on the IR, they move from their current roster position to the 6th spot on the MR. The FA player replacing the injured player takes the vacated spot on the MR or AR. You cannot place a player on IR if the 6th spot in the Minors is not available.
The player (on IR) status changes to "inactive". The player on IR remains, as such, for 19 days. On the 20th day you have 24 hours to contact/inform the RSPS of your final plans for the IR player. You have 2 options.
Note: You cannot place a player on IR as part of either option.
Option ‘Waivers’: Don't recall player from IR: The player is removed from IR and your Team and returns to the NHL. Their availability as a FA, to other teams, is immediate. This is referred to as placing the player on waivers. Player remains on waivers for 4 days (96hrs), for any other Team to pick up and add to their Team. If this occurs the move is immediate and that Team pays no transaction fee. The Team must return 1 of their players to the NHL to complete their transaction. You do not pay any additional fees with this decision.
Recall Player from IR: The player returns to your Team (injured or not). You return the (original) subbed-in player, back to NHL. You do not pay a transaction fee. The player returning is considered an RFA and not available as an FA until their set date. If you decide to return a different player (not the original player) to the NHL you will be accessed an additional Type C transaction and be charged the associated fee.
Note: Injury status must be considered significant (by THENHLJL).
The following describes the reintroduced process of TR's via online forms. References to the emailing of TRs have been included so that Rookies know both processes if ever the THENHLJL change back again.
When a Team wants to trade, they go to the Trade Request webpage, select the type of Trade they want to make and complete the associated form. When the Team completes the form-fields they click the "Submit Trade Request" button; the same as they would click on "send" if emailing the request. This ensures the following info is provided…
- All Teams are copied the TR Receipt via their email.
- The TR is structured so that no misinterpretation of the TR exists.
- All Teams see the date-time-stamp of the TR (avoiding any uncertainty)
- The specifics of every TR are the same for every TR.
- The online forms permit the use of abbreviations/short-forms and trash-talk.
Note: Yes of course, humor & wit and trash & jabs and insane hockey ramblings are welcome and add to the entertaining aspect, of the RSPS.
Submitting Trade Request
When you submit (as you would click 'send' in email), it becomes an official record (of that request). This record is logged and added to the RSPS Transaction Report (TRR); regardless if your TR is approved or disallowed. Once you submit your TR you cannot change your mind (so-to-speak). A grace period of 2 minutes following your TR, is acknowledged & considered but shouldn't be relied upon. If your submission is 'not-what-you-intended' immediately re-submit indicating it was a TR-in-error.
Note: Yes of course make sure you want to trade, before requesting a trade.
TIP: During a Trade Blackout, TRs are literally ignored. So if you make a trade request and the date time stamp is before TB ending @ 7:00pm, you can resubmit the TR (again seconds or minutes later). The one hour trade rule does not apply . The previous TR was ignored. However .. do not take advantage of this. Do not submit multiple TRs - you risk having all disallowed.
Submitting a TR: Submitting a TR does not mean your TR is approved.
Testing a TR: Testing your PCs time and that of theNHLJL server is encouraged. However, no tests submitted between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm and no more than 2 tests in any one hour. Online TRs have a separate form for testing here. Breaking this rule will result in an automatic fine of $1.00 off your salary cap.
How to Trade: When a team wants to trade, they fill out the appropriate online trade request form.. Once they click ‘submit’, a TR Receipt page displays their trade request info and a date/time stamp. All RSPS Teams will receive a copy of the TR Receipt page via email. All trade requests are reviewed and approved/disallowed & posted on RSPS Central within 24 hrs. All reports (ie; transaction report) are updated after transactions get posted and usually within the same 24 hours.
One Hour: The one hour trade request rule applies to each and every request. One hour is equal to 60 minutes or 3600 seconds (not 61 minutes or 3601 seconds).
Note: Re-review your trade requests before submitting, as a mistake on your part could affect your request or your additional requests or benefit another team’s request.
