Draft Session

At the HOD, GMs are prepared to first draft 15 players, then draft 5 players. GMs will keep track of players’ salary cap-hits to stay within the NHL salary upper/lower limits. GMs complete and hand in their draft-sheet, once all is done.

Drafting:

GMs are assigned their draft order, (ie; pick a number from a hat).

Future draft sessions the order is determined by the standings. Last place draft first & first place draft last (& so on).

Fees

Fees range from $40 to $65 each season. This includes refundable ‘commitment’ fees.

KLPS

A Keeper League fantasy pool. Poolies draft a 20-man roster according to the set positions’ criteria, and accumulated player salaries. Participants are asked to commit to 3 seasons.

Player Moves (Lineup Changes) GMs do player ‘transactions’, coaches do player ‘moves’. Player moves (aka lineup changes), are done online. Lineup changes can be once a week, bi-weekly, monthly, or just the once. This is each teams’ option. Expansion Teams New participants are called expansion teams. At their first draft session, they select 1 player from each teams’ list of keepers. They then draft their remaining players. Transition Period A 48-hour transition period follows Trading and IR transactions, to allow for admin-work and for all teams to be aware of the transactions. Salaries & Contracts Salary cap will match that of the NHL, as will player salaries and contracts. Resources used are CapFriendly and PuckPedia. Players Points Your players earn you points only when their on the Active Bench. A player removed from Active Bench no longer earns points for your team; but still keeps the points they earned while on the Active Bench. Acquisition: Acquire a player from the POP during the season. Drop: Return an acquired player to the POP), with no salary issues. Buyout: Player returns to the POP. Team retains 50% of the player's salary (current season); 25% the following season. Trade: Request is submitted by just 1 of the 2 teams involved. Trades completed after 48 hours. Players’ positions are not a factor. Participation All participants have an equal say in league matters & are welcome to volunteer to be the Commissioner. GMs are encouraged to keep this a fantasy league and conduct themselves like GMs and Coaches.

the House Of Draft

Come prepared to the HOD. Each participant will draft 15 to 20 players (ref time restraints).

Below are some resources and information that can be helpful during the drafting process.

Bring any info you require to the HOD.

Tip: Bring a friend to help you.

The KLPS will only have the 1 hardcopy, the ‘draft-sheet’, to handout. It will be the official roster of your drafted players, on the day of.

Teams must stay within the salary cap limits.

Tip: Closely monitor player Cap-Hits while drafting; as salaries accumulate quickly.

Keep Cap-Space in mind, if you’re intending a full 23 player roster.

Pool fees are due at the HOD.
