Did you know?

HNIC PGP always starts the first Saturday of November.

If anyone misses out on this date they can still partake by entering on the second Saturday of November.

This is the “late-entry” date. See rules for the details.

Did you know?

When each Sat’s Ws/Ls are calculated, so are the previous Sat’s re-calculated.

A re-check is also done Monday - Wednesday, often when the online PGP Card is switched-over to the next Sat.

If ever you see an error with anyone’s Ws/Ls, please report it immediately.

Finding & correcting errors is best done sooner than later.

Did you know?

You can partake, pay entry fee and never complete a PGP Card and still win.

Each Card will be “auto-submitted” for you with the set defaults. These default values can win reg &/or cash Saturdays, and possibly the Pool.

“Final” standings are completed & posted as usual, on Sunday. They are not deemed "official" until the Monday. Winners are contacted on that Monday

Multiple entries by one Poolie are accepted. For each additional entry the Poolie’s entry fee is $35/entry.

Any Poolie who finds and reports qty 5 Ws/Ls errors in one season, will receive a $5 discount on any future thenhljl pool-entry.

At the bottom of the Standings’ page you’ll see “Virtual Poolies”. This table keeps count of home wins vs visitor wins. To satisfy my own curiosity and maybe yours.

This 2024-25 season, Home teams (odds) have surprisingly been the better.

As of Jan 4; if you had only picked home teams to win, every Saturday to date, you would have 72 Ws & 38 Ls.

This is the highest I’ve seen, the Home over Visitor odds, over the past 6 years.

Terms & Conditions

Wins/Losses are determined and confirmed as normal (HNIC PGP). Most correct wins… wins.

If tied, total goals tie-breaker will decide the winner.

If still tied, Poolie closest to the total goals without going over will win.

If still tied all total goals to date will be used as tie-breaker.

This prize, does not include shipping. If arrangements cannot be made to hand-deliver, the winner will need to pay shipping.

You can ask for a PGP reminder to be text’d to you,

in case you worry you might forget.

I will not email Poolies. I’ve broken my rule just a few times with “new” Poolies “but no longer”. You now have to ask to get a reminder.

How it works… you ask by including your cell number (for text only) in the Comments Field (found with each online PGP Card).

Only thenhljl (& you) see your number. Your # is never shared or posted.

At approx 12:20pm, I routingly check to see who has and has not submitted their PGP Card. If you haven’t, and if you have given your # & approval to receive text reminder; I will text you a “picks reminder” just once, at approx 12:20-12:30pm.

Yes you can win by not doing anything; letting the default PGP Card ride.

However, this is not recommended as a strategy for all Saturdays thru the entire Pool season.

You can use the comments field for suggestions, questions & new ideas? One Poolie recently wrote, can team names be used vs team cities’ names (current); or can you use both?

 ie:  Ottawa,   Senators,   Ottawa Senators.
